Code of Conduct

 
 
At David Hoy School citizens are expected to understand and abide by the following Code of Conduct:
 
I have a right to learn in my classroom.
It is my responsibility to listen to instructions, work quietly in my desk, and to raise my hand if I have a question or concern or need to leave.
 
I have a right to hear and be heard.
It is my responsibility not to talk, shout or make loud noises when others are speaking.
 
I have a right to be respected in this classroom.
It is my responsibility not to tease or bug other people, or to hurt their feelings.
 
I have a right to be safe in my school.
It is my responsibility not to threated, kick, punch or physically harm anyone else.
 
I have a right to privacy and to my own personal space.
It is my responsibility to respect the personal property of others and to accept their right to privacy.
 
I have a right (as per District Policy No. 502.1 Item 2.7) to be free of discrimination on the grounds of ancestry, color, family or marital status, physical or mental disability, place of origin, race, religion, gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation.
 
It is my responsibility to treat all members of my community fairly and to not participate in discriminatory behavior.
 
I have a right to be attend a school that is free of bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, intimidation, threatening, or violent behavior.
 
It is my responsibility to not participate in any bullying or threatening behavior and to report it if I hear or see others participating in this unacceptable behavior.
